yeah seriously .. hands like that can ruin ur bb rate. its ok to be happy with ace high on a 22223 board. but a 98763 board should hit the bb hm?

you dont make money with calling ace high everytime against an normal 63/20 dude ....

You don't think my (stealing) range in this spot could be T9o through ATo, A5s+, and 33+?

What do you guys put him on when he check raises the flop?

I figured on the river it was either fold or raise, and calling was worse. Calling I would lose to a made draw or even a pair. Might as well raise since the river card is a scary card, flush or straight. Bad line of thinking?

What do you guys think - would raising the turn be best for a free showdown rather than just call turn and call river? If this is the case, the river card would probably make villain donk and put me in tough decision, making me lean towards folding.

sure I do. and against me this might not be horrible (although I'm not much more likely to fold than him unless I had total air in which case a call is in order). But this player probably has a pair or some kind of a gutshot draw on the flop and decided you just had a couple of big cards no pair and he was going to c/r you and fire away. So even if he didn't hit the pair on the flop it is very likely he hit one on the turn or river. And once he hit that pair he is never folding.

so the only time that your river raise works and he folds are the times when he had nothing and you should have just called. Most of the time he has a hand, and you just lit 2BBs on fire.

Also there aren't a ton of spots that FSDr is correct, and this especially isn't one of them since you can't safely fold to a 3-bet with 10 cards in the deck that improve your hand on the river.

Do you think this guy gives a [censored] what your range is?

I agree..this guy is passive enough that he isnt as near worried about your range as we are of his. River raise is spewing.
