Re: Update on the Cat Situation.
d10 - been there.
I have some international friends that are nuts about F1. Over the past couple of years we've had revolving race day benders. Nothing like four Brits knocking on the door at 7:00 on a Sunday morning with a cooler full of Tetleys, McCaffereys, and Speckled Hen. F1 will be really dead here in the US next year. |

Re: Update on the Cat Situation.
adsman,
where exactly do you live? if tuscany, have you read james paterson's books on gerald samper? they are culinary novels mostly set around there, very very funny. he describes the specialty of a certain local village, smoked cat. this possibility was raised earlier in the thread, but perhaps it merits further investigation? guardian review of second book |

Back in WWII, particularly in Northern Italy, food got very scarce in the last few years and there was a notable decline in the cat populations. A few villages thought that cat pie tasted pretty good and continued the tradition after the war. I'm not sure of which villages or exactly where, but occasionaly this topic comes up. I may have to quiz my friends over here a bit more on this. |
