How Did the Idea of Pooh-Bah Posts Start?

My attempts to research this by various search methods lead me to threads initiated by a Pooh-bah post or threads with users who have pooh-bah as their title.

On the upside, it was origionally Carpal Tunnel and then became Carpal\'Tunnel in the first major software shift if i know my 2+2 history, so he wasnt 100% off in his statement [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]

Well it's common amongst UBB forums. I'd guess the forum authors meant to do Carpal 'Tunnel and put the escape character in there thinking it was necessary but I dunno why Tunnel would need an apostrophe before it.
