Default Peppermill Fall Poker Tournament

Starts up tomorrow. I played a few of the Spring Poker Tournament events and those had a really nice structure and were well-run. Not sure how good of a turnout there will be, but the Grand Sierra Resort Pot of Gold last month drew between 100-250 people for most of the events so it will be probably be similar to that.

I played in the $225 tonight. Went out around 45th. 187 entered and 21 were paid.

Probably try to catch a couple more tomorrow and Sunday.

I played in it too, ended up busting in 5th place for about $1.9k. I like how the structure allows for decent amount of play early on, but towards the end it way to shallow. I think the avg stack coming into to final table was about 9bb's or something like that. Might have been because of the 20 min levels, I hope the noon tourneys have longer levels. Not going to play the noon $330 tomorrow, going to watch the Gator game, but I'm probably going to be here for the duration of the tournament so I'll be playing in the majority of them. If you run into a swedish kid at one of your tables that's probably me. My name is Andy.

Oh and if/when I bust, I'll be spending some time in the 20-40 game.

I'm playing the noon today so we're free for dinner tonight. (I'm in town to meet up with some girlfriends from high school.) Probably not too hard to spot me as a woman, long brown hair, furiously chewing Nicorette. If you think it's me, throw a 'Sup Bro" my way. Not sure what I'll play on Sunday.

From what I heard, levels today are supposed to be 30 minutes, instead of the twenty last night.

Oh, and congrats on 5th!

8th today in the noon tournament. I suck at the mechanics of live poker, but I had a blast anyway. I suppose you have to learn sometime.

I'll be playing this event this coming Fri/Sat. How are the dual events working out? I'm assuming the 7pm event starts around the time the bubble or FT hit? Or, is the noon event finished by the time the 7pm event begins.

Also, how are the side games beyond the normal fare at the peppermill? Are they spreading more, or different games?

I will be around Saturday and Sunday. 37 yo guy with black eyeglasses, spiky hair. Probably play one of the Saturday tourneys, which one depends on hangover levels.

Are they doing satellites for Sunday?

Yeah, they're running single-table sats. I think $115's for one seat and $225's for two seats. They're also trying to run super sats., $60 buy-in w/ $50 rebuys and add-on.

Brag:

Dealt A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] K [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 9 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

Flop: Q [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] J [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 7 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

Toss the 9

Bet and raise and bet and raise.

Turn: some card that didn't hit me.

Bet and raise as much as possible waiting for heart or ten.

River: T [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

Bet and get two callers. No low makes it even nicer.

Then dealer says "That's your royal for the next 4 years- too bad you wasted it in a $100 CP tourney...."

That dealer is a brat! Why rain on your parade like that?

I have yet to turn a royal.
