Default data sources for handicapping

I am new to sports betting, so please forgive the news question. Where can I get detailed databases of historical game results for any of the leading sports? Specifically I would like something I can load into MySQL to do correlation analyses on factors from scoring/defense components to even roster composition.

For example, in football I'd like to research how teams that are run oriented fare against strong run defenders, so I would need data on rushing attempts and yards in each game. Even better would be play by play data.
