Default Prob one of the more gruesome beats I\'ve seen as played

So I decide to 4bet this to 3/4 my stack thinking maybe he will see me as committing myself with who knows J9s and go all in with his whatever. When he shoved for like 1/7 pot I just prayed that I would hit an ace or king, but the results really hurt.

Ultimate Bet - No Limit Hold'em Cash Game - $25/$50 Blinds - 2 Players - (LegoPoker Hand History Converter)

BB: $7,708.50
Hero (SB): $6,173.00

Preflop: Hero is dealt K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 Players)
Hero raises to $150.00, BB raises to $450.00, Hero raises to $4,650.00, BB calls $4,200.00

Flop: ($9300) 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 Players)
BB bets all-in for $3,058.50, Hero calls all-in for $1,523.00
Uncalled bet of $1,535.50 returned to BB

Turn: ($12346) Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 Players - 2 All-In)

River: ($12346) T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 Players - 2 All-In)

Pot Size: $12,346.00 ($1 Rake)

BB had A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (two pair, queens and nines) and WON (+$6,172.00)
Hero had K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (a pair of nines) and LOST (-$6,173.00)

The description makes no sense whatsoever. Would you do the same thing with J9ss? If not, why would he think that you'd do that now all of a sudden?

OK instead of J9s use 88 or something... the point is shoving preflop was too much to put in imo and this also gave him a chance to screw up since it was an odd play.

I don't understand why you didn't just 4-bet to like 1350? That way he still might push preflop putting you on a move and you should happily call.

Edit: I'm not trying to be a dick or anything here. I understand the beat is gruesome. I just don't understand the play really.
