87 of spades. He's got a backdoor flush draw and the straight draw. It's a hard call with <99 because of two callers behind and it's an easy rr w/TT+.

Going back to preflop a bit, what range does he expect you to call if he shoves over your squeeze?

Also really quick. I guess along the point of if you guys think he calls here preflop with 99-jj then they become put into the range of pocket pairs.

When he calls your 3b preflop, he leaves 2 other people behind him to act. No way he invites them to come along as well by calling when he has a big pocket pair.

That eliminates QQ+. 99-JJ never make this shove on the flop. In a big pot between 2 very aggro players, he will have air or draws a huge % of the time here making it a pretty +EV call IMO.

ok to elaborate since I saw Greg mention it as well, 99 should not shove here. In a perfect world where he knows Greg has a marginal hand yes it becomes a good shove.

However, Greg's range here is like 90% air/monster... meaning a shove by 99 is -EV for the obvious reason that Greg folds his air and instacalls monsters. He rarely has a hand like 88.

It's range versus range. Shoving 99 is good only against a tiny part of Greg's range but awful versus the rest.

The only hand I can see him having here is a flush draw and/or straight draw. You are both wild and very aggro. He knows you could be doing this with a wide range PLUS he has position on you, so he would love to call preflop here with suited connectors since he can expect this to be multiway some of the time.

With your agressive style, he might be more inclined to slowplay with sets and AQ type hands because he knows you will bet the turn with a higher frequency than you would call a flop push.

With a draw here he doesnt want to call beacuase he needs 2 cards.

You 3bet preflop here with a large range (in his mind - I dont know if you actually do or not because you are in the blinds) so he knows you cant call his flop push with a large part of that range.

That said, why didnt you smooth call in this multiway pot with 88?
