Default Effects of alcohol on poker playing ability

There are conflicting arguments on whether drinking alcohol improves or harms your ability to play your best game when it comes to poker.

Some think it acts as a relaxant that allows you to remain composed and even think clearer. Others believe that the alcohol affects your inhibitions and makes you perform stupid play that you would not do if you were drunk.

What is your opinion on the matter? Is alcohol good for your game?
