Why even bother? Arguing with ACists means operating under the faulty premise that their philosophies are legitimate and not at all the product of selfish privilege and bigotry.

Because they're slowly expanding into the legislation forum, where they've so far have succeeded in keeping the debate away from "what regs do we need?" and at "who are you to question the Holy Market when it says AP's A-OK".

This needs to end ASAP, because people who actually have dogs in this fight need to take the legislation forum here seriously, which is not happening right now.

I 99% agree, the only point of contention I have is that 'intelligent' should be replaced with 'privy to the best possible education and some of it inevitably sank in and stuck'.

What it really comes down to is that they have no problem with (white-owned) corporations pillaging the land and humanity in pursuit of the almighty dollar, but they'll be damned if they give a dime towards social services (that poor/brown people use).

I actually think most of them believe this "free efficient market" nonsesnse. It reminds of the "know it all hippies" in south park. Except they're not hippies, but you get the point.

And I'm a huge free trade/free market supporter, but one has to actually bake a little common sense into the equation. Maybe it's just the 10 years I've spent in public company auditing and corporate governance. Lol at industries/businesses policing themselves. It just ain gon happen, ever.

I didn't mean to imply they were "brandi-swilling white guys"-- THOSE guys already have all the money; they don't want to change things-- but more that they're slightly evolved racist rednecks. Whether or not some of the people are sincere, most of the people carrying the ACist flag around here resort to ad hominems and trolling while they accuse others of doing same. And the (bigoted) bases of their philosophy become apparent when you examine things like the candidates they support, their feeling on the Civil War, any social programs whatsoever, etc.

I am absolutely disgusted by the AP scandal. I started playing poker 5 years ago and have put a lot of time into studying the game, I am a winning player.

The recreation of hands posted on youtube.com made me physically sick. I've always suspected the possiblity of collusion (via IM) and I believe this can be beaten by solid play.

There is no way to defeat a player with a superuser account. I've dismissed the "poker is rigged" threads over the years. You have to admit, the superuser scandal with AP is our worst nightmare. I really hope AP collapses, however from what I've read from some respected posters this will likely not happen.

The scandal reinforces lessons we've already learned. If you can't beat the game you leave. If you can't spot the sucker at the table....

I'll stick to low limits. When I can no longer beat them, I'll head to the casino.
