Two stupid preflop decisions. (Boring!)
I am new to the table.
online 5/10. Blind structure is 1/2 - Hand 1 (All unknown) UTG limps, HJ overlimps, 2 folds, SB raise, Hero calls T7o? - Hand 2 Same table as before. UTG is the HJ limper from hand 1 in which he had J5s. BB is the UTG limper from hand 1. UTG limps, 3 folds, Hero completes SB with Q7o? |

Re: Two stupid preflop decisions. (Boring!)
I fold them both. Hand 1 you're dominated often by the limpers or the raiser. Hand 2 is closer I guess. If you know that you could lead a lot of dry flops and get folds, then it's prob. ok.

Re: Two stupid preflop decisions. (Boring!)
I'd fold first hand, but thats because there's no much stealing from SB going on at my tables so I put SB on a tighter range that you might do at party 5/10.
Hand 2 I complete but it's close. |

Re: Two stupid preflop decisions. (Boring!)
Hand 2 depends on just how bad the limper is,and also how bad the BB is, and to a lesser extent, how often the BB is raising preflop.
Hand 1: I have never called in that spot, never even thought it was worth considering. |

Hand 1: I have never called in that spot, never even thought it was worth considering. [/ QUOTE ] why? I don't mind seeing a cheap flop against those limping morons. |

Re: Two stupid preflop decisions. (Boring!)
Hand 1 I fold mainly because you're looking to hit 2 pair+ and your position and relative position suck. However, you play much better than me postflop so go for it.
Hand 2 I'd call, but I think I complete too often against idiot limpers which gets me into trouble postflop. |

Re: Two stupid preflop decisions. (Boring!)
I think Hand 1 is closer to a call.
If you think sb definitely has a big pair, because some people would only raise limpers from the sb with a very narrow range, then its probably a fold. But if you think sb could have AJ-AK type hands, or 66, 88, 99, then I think it’s a call. I like our position, because sb will be continue-betting flop, and we can raise him light to shut out the limpers. If we flop something like top pair or middle pair, and there is some chance sb only has over cards, we should raise flop to knock the limpers out, and then call down from there. I think there will be enough money in the pot that it is profitable to try to get lucky against the sb. Maybe he only has overs or maybe we get lucky and hit our two pair, trips, or gutshot type outs. |

I call hand 2
we can turn a profit getting likely 5:1 on half a SB with 2 weak players in the pot |

Re: Two stupid preflop decisions. (Boring!)
I think it is entirely player dependent. If the guys are total BB bleeding donks (like I found last night) I'll likely call them both.
If the SB plays well and the limpers aren't horrible though I'm folding 1. If the limper is bad and the BB isn't likely to raise pf then I usually call 2. |

Re: Two stupid preflop decisions. (Boring!)
1) I would fold this with good relative position. With bad relative position it's a clear fold IMO.
2) I've been folding this but I'm a nit in the SB. |
