This is another friend. He claims to be lactose intolerant.

El D,

I was happy to learn that my training session in July involves a group outing to Dave & Busters (as well as Chevy's). I'll report back here afterwards.

I used to go to conferences at the one in Irvine (OC). It seems fairly upscale and appears to be kind of a local hangout for young failry hot (probably moronic) chicks. Pretty hard to have ghetto in Irvine though. Went to one in Orlando a couple years ago that was nice but kid-packed.

75 or 85 D&B?

West Siiiiide. Don't think I've been to the 85 location.

GI,

Charge for parking in ATL 'burbs? WTF? The one in Milpitas was free parking and no cover at 7pm.

[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah, they came up with the bright idea of cordoning off 3/4 of the lot for valet, which resulted in a giant clusterfuck of people trying to cram into the remaining quarter for free.

Jillian's in SF is not ghetto at all, except a little bit on Friday nights when it turns from pool hall / sports bar into Asian dance party night.

[/ QUOTE ]

I'll be there on Friday. Prepare the couch.

suzzer,

Irvine D&B has some very cute college girls pretty consistently. Thursday night is a veritable feast.

Dave & Buster's is an 'adult arcade' like a Chuck-E-Cheese for grownups. Video games (lots of high-end expensive ones), pool, shuffleboard, drinks, restaurant. Right around when I graduated college in Houston they opened one there on Richmond (the main bar/nightclub strip at the time) and it was marketed as a high-end hangout place for adults. Saturday night I went to one in Milpitas (south Bay Area, near San Jose). It had a pretty different feel to it. So, for those of you who have D&B's in your area:

Dude, it's Milpitas. You're lucky you didn't get shot.

Ive only been to the one in Rockville, MD.

Seemed to be a fairly upscale with people across the spectrum. I would guess its hard to keep some ghetto people away from cheap food and video games, but the place seemed nice overall.

Side note. I just played golf with a guy who bragged he stayed at Dave and Busters for over 12 hours one day playing video poker and claimed to have won enough tickets to buy a video camera. Unfortunitaly beer limited my response and questioning of this story to "What the [censored] is wrong with you??!"

That one is indeed nice, as is the one at Arundel Mills.

[/ QUOTE ]

It used to be. Last few times I've been it has been packed with "thuggin" black kids and white trash. The one in White Flint Mall is much better, but it is located in an upscale area instead of the cesspool that is Glen Burnie.

lol can you define "ghetto" - Dave & Busters will set a family back $200 for a day of video games and lunch/dinner - not too many "ghetto" families in Philly that can afford that

[/ QUOTE ]

lol aside for the ones that live in the government housing. I mean the houses with the sattelite dishes on the roofs, the nice yards and the Lexus in the driveway.

El D,

I was visiting some friends in school at Houston over last christmas and went to the Dave and Busters that you mentioned on Richmond. It was pretty ghetto, exactly like the one you described in the bay area. Maybe it went downhill?

[/ QUOTE ]

Nah. Its still relatively nice. I was there less than a month ago. It was packed and very fun.I heart the actual life size basketball shooting thingy. They even had a couple luxury cars (>100k) parked out front in the valet.
