Raising this flop is fine. Id probably would have just pushed the flop before the turn bricks and our equity drops.

If you are going to raise this then I think you have to 4bet shove here for metagame reasons unless you just CC sets and two pair and shove the turn instead of shoving those. However, I doubt you do that so go ahead and 4bet, especially since he is a regular. I think vs. a good UTG raiser I just call the flop though since he is obviously felting AA and 1010 and clearly folding JJ-KK to any further aggression. Also, I can't see him ever folding AK once he 3bets. If you raise the flop you're basically folding out bigger pairs, which you could push out later anyways, and sometimes AQ and AJ which he isn't felting anyways. If he raised somewhere later I like this play a lot more. I don't buy it that he fold AK for $100 more, if he does I don't know how solid he is.

raising the flop is fine
pushing to the raise is fine
smoothcalling the flop is better
flatcalling the raise is better

Before reading other replies:
You have little fold equity, but you have 12 outs and the pot is already very big which means that it is all going to the middle on the turn anyway. You could call, hoping for a free turn, but I doubt it. I imagine that you will just have to get it in here. Tough spot, you'll just have to ask yourself, "Do you feel lucky, punk? Well, do ya?" PUUUSHHH!!!

Just wondering (actually it's always puzzled me) what is the differance between a smoothcall and a flatcall and a coldcall??

It's something that I've never had explained to me and I've used them interchangably

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poker_jargon

smooth call
See "flat call".

flat call
A call, in a situation where one might be expected to raise. Normally I raise with jacks, but with three limpers ahead of me I decided to flat call. Also "smooth call". Compare to "cold call", "overcall". See slow play (poker).

cold call
To call an amount that represents a sum of bets or raises by more than one player. Alice opened for $10, Bob raised another $20, and Carol cold called the $30. Compare to "flat call", "overcall".

overcall
To call a bet after others have called, esp. big bets. Jim bet, Alice called, then Ted overcalled. Compare to "cold call", "flat call", "smooth call".

smoothcall is when you call a bet in position heads up

flatcall is when you bet and call a raise, or when you raise and call a reraise.

overcall is like smoothcall except its not heads up (e.g. theres callers between.

coldcall is when you call after a bet and a raise, or after a raise and a reraise

how can be upsman92 20/7/1 ??
my notes on him : he is loose, he doesnt make cbet most of the time in headsup - but call a bet with his overcards. with KK (pfr) he leads out with half pot against 2-3 players on a Axy board.
