this is the exact kind of thread where the search function or google could be used. I mean there could be some substance if you asked what specific games were like or if you had shown that you might realize there are like 6 cardrooms right off the top of my head that ALL spread 4/8--->20/40.

bay101
garden city
artichoke joes
lucky chances
oaks
palace in hayward

bay101 has the best games imo. oaks is probably my favorite followed by lucky chances. oaks is just comedy how bad the players are.

I figured people were going to rovide some insight into the play at the casinos, i can run a yellowpages search for where they are...where are the softest seats, which ones regularly spread a decent limit, etc...

Here's my post from this thread from last week:

[ QUOTE ]
Lucky Chance's 2-3-5/$500max spread limit game has replaced their 20/40 game at the mid limits. AFAIK, they have basically stopped spreading LHE above 6/12. If you want to play mid-stakes LHE, Lucky Chances isn't an option.

For mid-limit HE in the Bay Area:

AJ's spreads 15/30
Garden City spreads 20/40
Bay101 spreads 20/40, 40/80, and 100/200
The Oaks spreads 15/30 and 30/60 on Fridays (and other days? Haven't played their in years.)
California Grand spreads 12/24

I don't know if this list is complete, but it should be a good start. [snip]

[/ QUOTE ]

4/8 to 20/40 is a big range. If you want to play 20/40, I think Bay101 will be your best choice, as they have the most games at that limit, usually between two and four, and the games are typically pretty good. I can't advise on games below 20/40, but this is California, not Vegas; the games are all pretty good (with the exception of the Artichoke Joe's 15/30, which seems to either be great or awful, depending on the ratio of nitty/softplaying locals to normal folks.)

The 8/16 games at Garden City are fantastic.
