Re: 33 at NL 25: What do I do when he checks?
[ QUOTE ]
you guys are semi deep and you cant ever check this flop behind. bet $1.50 here. 2/3-3/4s pot on turn. re-evaluate on river and probably a 1/2-3/4 bet on the river depending on whichever you think he will call. [/ QUOTE ] |

villain could be multitabling and forgot that he raised it PF, or he misclicked. I still bet at least $1.5 Crovax [/ QUOTE ] One could make that case for every action a player could make. Thus, it's not worth mentioning. |

Re: 33 at NL 25: What do I do when he checks?
I would bet $2 and hope he calls. Don't give a free card by checking. If he raised preflop, that flop is pretty tame to his range. He will most likely call with an overpair or overcards. Also, he may be slowplaying an overpair. If he folds to your flop bet, he wasn't going to pay you off much whether you gave him the free card or not.

Thanks for the responses, guys.
At the table, the limit player in me was actually a little scared of Villain's flop check, because back when I was playing limit regularly, there were a lot of players who would only check a flopped set in this spot and would fire with anything else. But I reassured myself by telling myself that NL is a different game. I also told myself that I would bet anything I had cold-called with after getting checked to like this, so I decided to go ahead and bet the set as well. So, anyway, I put a bet of $2 in the pot (which according to most of the responses, was too much), and Villain folded. |
