25NL JJ: Help me interpret this turn push
BB in this hand is 57/5/1.9 after 58, but a good chunk of that "1.9" comes from $0.25 flop and turn min-bets.
His turn push seemed out of character, and I wasn't sure what to make of it, although I guess the fact that he's getting short-stacked could be a factor. (I was considering putting him all-in on the turn until he beat me to it.) Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (8 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums) MP2 ($23.68) CO ($27.41) Hero ($25.05) SB ($5.35) BB ($10.79) UTG ($27.90) UTG+1 ($20.95) MP1 ($16.44) Preflop: Hero is Button with J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. Re: 25NL JJ: Help me interpret this turn push
Call. Don't fold overpairs for 40BB stacks.
And raise to ~1.5 preflop because both SB and BB are short. |

Re: 25NL JJ: Help me interpret this turn push
Very easy call imo. 25NL I never fold this hand in this exact spot with this bet Callio.

Re: 25NL JJ: Help me interpret this turn push
Yeah, I suspected after the hand that I should've called. But Villain's turn bet threw me (it was 31 times as big as his standard bet at the table up until that point).
After the posted hand, he went on a little mini-rush, and during that mini-rush, he made some big bets (and then would show, for instance, his turned flush after he didn't get called). So I was thinking, maybe he does save his big bets for big hands (though I had doubts still since he seemed to like to show off his big hands, and he hadn't shown against me). Then this hand took place (he's MP2): Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (10 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums) BB ($25.68) UTG ($9.75) UTG+1 ($6.01) Hero ($18.87) MP1 ($15.95) MP2 ($25.97) MP3 ($23.25) CO ($14.49) Button ($5.10) SB ($15.38) Preflop: Hero is UTG+2 with 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. SB posts a blind of $0.10. <font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, UTG+1 calls $0.25, Hero calls $0.25, MP1 calls $0.25, MP2 calls $0.25, <font color="#666666">2 folds</font>, Button calls $0.25, <font color="#CC3333">SB (poster) raises to $1.28</font>, <font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, UTG+1 calls $1.13, Hero calls $1.13, MP1 calls $1.13, MP2 calls $1.13, Button folds. Flop: ($7.40) T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(5 players)</font> SB checks, UTG+1 checks, Hero checks, <font color="#CC3333">MP1 bets $5</font>, <font color="#CC3333">MP2 raises to $15</font>, SB folds, UTG+1 calls $4.63 (All-In), Hero folds, MP1 calls $9.57 (All-In). Turn: ($41.60) 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(3 players, 2 all-in)</font> River: ($41.60) 2[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(3 players, 2 all-in)</font> Final Pot: $41.60 Results: UTG+1 has Jc Kd (straight, king high). MP1 has Ts Qd (two pair, queens and tens). MP2 has 8h 7h (high card, queen). Outcome: UTG+1 wins $21.29. MP1 wins $19.88. MP2 wins $0.43. After that, he left the table, and mostly I was left with the impression that he was very erratic. |
