Deep in mtt, top ten stack. KK vs chipleader
I apologize as I dont have the HH for this. It occurred on PokerHeaven's 100k gtd this Sunday. PokerHeaven doesn't have a conventional HH (they save an html file to local hard drive).
I was able to grind my way to the middle stage of this tourney and then went on a small heater to get up to #6 in chips with 174 left (80 pay I think). -I'm on the button with KK. -chipleader has my easily covered sits 2 spots to my right. I have no reads on him as he was moved to my table like 2 hands ago and this is his first action on my table. -MP limps -guy behind him limps -chiplead limps -I raise 5.5xBB -blinds fold, 1st 2 limpers fold -chiplead reraises approx 2.5 -I reraise (4bet?) him 3x -CL pushes, I call. He shows AA and my miracle K doesn't hit to send me out. I thought to myself for a brief moment, "uh oh...limp reraise...AA?!? hrm..could be pocket pair and he think's I'm stealing the limped pot". By time he pushes, I'm more than pot committed and make the call confident I'm behind but praying I'm not. I played very well up til this point and picked my spots carefully, negotiating the field to build up a decent stack. I'm extremely disappointed for busting like this but can't help but wonder if there's anyway anyone can convince me I should have folded that hand. Comments? Again, sorry for not having a proper HH. |

Look... this is just unfortunate. If you have KK in this spot, you're going broke 82% of the time. Don't beat yourself up about it... you'll have another chance.

Thanks for the support everyone. It's just more diisheartening because I honestly said this...
"uh oh...limp reraise...AA?!?" and I was 80% sure because the limp/reraise is the classical trap play. |

[/ QUOTE ] Yeah, sometimes. But not usually limped after two limpers are already in the pot. That's just idiotic. |

Sounds like all the money was going in the middle either before or after the flop.
You both laddered your bets hoping to get paid off with your monsters. It is unfortunate his monster was a little bigger. If you think your good enough to laydown KK PF, then your wasting your time reading these boards. |

Re: Deep in mtt, top ten stack. KK vs chipleader
In a tournament, I am NEVER folding KK in this situation. Who the hell limps in the hijack with AA after two players have already limped? This is absurd. I will go broke here every time and feel just fine about it. I don't understand the mentality of this guy willing to go to the flop against possibly four other players with aces.
No worries. You did what you were supposed to. |
