Default 5-10 Live, Rivered Trip Aces

I have only been at this table for about 2 orbits and I have never played with villain before. He seems solid based only on ~10 hands though. 5-handed game. Effective stacks: $2000.

Villain straddles UTG for $20. Button calls. I raise to $80 in SB with A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. BB, villain, and button call.
Flop: 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. Everyone checks.
Turn: 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. I lead out for $250, BB folds, villain calls, and button folds.
River: 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. I check. Villain thinks for about 30 seconds, then bets $600. Should I call this? Should I have lead river instead? Thoughts on all streets are welcome.

yes, unless you are going to C/R for value.

C/R all in for value, and I actually really like how you played this. You know villian either called you on turn with a lone ace or with a draw since he would raise with 2 pr or a set, and checking this river allows him to bluff with a missed draw, or value bet a worse ace.

Obviously don't fold, weaker aces bet for value and he could have missed a ton of draws, Also it's pretty unlikely for a good player to ever check behind on that flop with a set / straight.

OK, it seems like nobody folds this. I agree; I think I was just second-guessing myself after I called and he showed me A5 for the full house. Is there really any value in C/R all-in on the river? I think weak aces fold a lot of the time to a push here. On the other hand, if that is the case, I guess it would be right to C/R all in with a missed draw in this situation.

I like the way you played it. I think it's likely villain has put you on an ace on the turn, so it's going to be tough to get value from any non-ace. And you HATE getting raised on this river if you bet. Checking and calling is right imo. He get a chance to bet his busted draws, and he bets a worse ace that he would have called with. You also don't have to face a raise on the river if you're beat.
