Live 10/20 hand
basically i'm just posting this hand to see what 2p2 thinks as to whether i played this hand too weak
*history: villian is a good live pro and probably the only other good player in the game, we tangle quite a bit, are both capable of making plays, he views me as looser than i actually am. so the hand(sorry if its completely obv) effective stacks are around 2500(capped game that just started): 6 limpers im in the small blind with 2 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]2 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] i complete and we see a flop of 2 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]3 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]6 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] i lead into the crowd for 100 get 1 callerm then villian raises to 330 on the button, i call turn q [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] i check he bets 400(why so little?) i call river 9 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] check. he bets 600 i call My reason for posting the hand is that i talked to a few of my friends who are top players and some said my calling station line is the best line and some said a turn raise was in order. Was just wondering what 2p2 thinks. |

Re: Live 10/20 hand
I like. I feel like taking a more aggressive approach will just get you to donate more money to 33/66/45 and not get the busted draws to bluff enough. Another possible line is to go for a turn c/r, if you think theres a higher chance he's f.o.s. If he's a tighter, more straight-forward player though, I like this line.

Re: Live 10/20 hand
yeah i seriously contemplated a turn c/r but decided to flat for a couple reasons. His turn bet seemed super weak but on a rainbow non threatening board i figured he would want to keep me in if he did have 33/66/54 which were all very distinct possibilites given his button limp. On the flip side if he was messing around, which i also knew was possible i saw no reason to chase him out when he could be drawing very thin.

Re: Live 10/20 hand
I like your line...everything that could feasibly beat you is easily in his limping range, and if he is actually trying for a weak value bet with something like top pair, a c/r will blow him off his hand anyway. I'm not sure I see too much value, if any, in a c/r here, because I tihnk he's folding most low overpairs that he limps with, as well as one pairs he hits on the flop if you pop him on the turn.
