Question about pot limit
Pot Limit: Why don't we play it, again, I forgot? In NL we make 3/4 pot and pot sized bets. Occassionally we get to get more than that in, but those times are rare especially considering the infiltration of shorties these days.
Just a quick spot check on the micros shows higher table VP$IPs on average. Are there specific reasons we choose to play NL other than, "I don't want to pollute my PT database."? Onaflag.......... PS....Oh, and while I'm on dumb subjects, exactly where is that last question mark supposed to go? I know it's not right. Re: Question about pot limit
i used to know why i thought pot limit was kinda lame. i think its deffintitly profitable. i just think that you play drawing hand differently and your preflop raising forces you to consider other things post flop. it is a similar game but you really do have play and think about alot of situations differently than you would in NL. its not that much different but different enough to kinda f up your nl game. just like goin back and forth from limit to nl can do. and finally not many people play it so who cares?
but hey if you wanna start discussing it go on ahead. i need some sort of catalsyt before i can talk about somthing so general as that. |

Re: Question about pot limit
I always play pot limit, and my winrate is much better in PL than NL. Unfortunatley, there are rarely more than 2 full tables going at my limits on stars.
Imsakidd, Just always click at the far right side of the slider and you'll make a $7 opening raise. |

Re: Question about pot limit
At $100PL and $200PL I do well at PL because it saves me from making the occaisional dumb river call against villain's over-push ("Bah! That must be a bluff!").
$50PL (and presumably lower) sucks because you can't raise enough pre-flop so you wind up with 4 callers every time and your big pairs go way, way down in value. No foldem holdem... |

I think you got the quote/question mark thing right, but I ain't no English teacher. |

Re: Question about pot limit
IMHO, there are also less sharks playing PL. Much like there are less sharks playing at Pokerroom or Pacific...

Re: Question about pot limit
In PL you can't raise enough from out of the blinds.
