Default MSN Virus - Very quick question

Hi.

I have downloaded an MSN virus via a "friend" (lol).

I have found the instructions on how to get rid of it but it here:

Removal

But my question is - where do I type all of the commands in? If it just from the "Start/Run" prompt?

Sorry for my idiocy.

Thanks.

go start, run, type: regedit
thats the registry editor. its like a folder tree, ull hafta search the entrys listed and delete them.

when it says delete files %windows%/... it means u should go into ur folder where windows is installed (c:\windows in general) with regular windows explorer.

%system% means c:\windows\system.

I wouldn't recommend messing around with registry/system files unless you're familiar with what you're doing. Probably best to get a tech savvy friend to help you with this via AIM or something.

Alternatively, PrevX can apparently do it for you:
