Check the prices on SSHDs bigger than 16GD, they are really expensive still. HD take up too much juice to run with the touch interface, battery life would be a sad joke.

this may be true - but couldn't you put in a bigger battery and increase the size of the device? lots of people would gladly make this trade-off.

this whole launch is just confusing, b/c now various products in their lineup have features that I want, but none of them have all of them.

Yeah, I'd be willing to consider the iTouch if it was a little bigger, but contained a better battery and ~30 GB of storage. Of course, that would put it at a very expensive price point, but I'd still consider it at around $500. I'm not willing to shell out as much as they're asking for a player with so little memory, though.

Agree. I was all set to buy something, anything, BUY BUY BUY. But I keep vacillating now.

Question: How much space does an average TV show/movie take up? Because I'm a gadget donkey and I really want the Touch and I want to know how small 16GB will be. Music-wise I've been living with a 2GB Nano so it'll take me a long time to fill it up with music, it's video I'm worried about.

iirc a couple hundred MB for 40 minutes of video (high quality)

also, I think that as you get access to more space, you are going to want to fill it with more music. buying a bigger ipod actually caused me to listen to more music, which is kind of backwards, but great.

The movies I have on my ipod are typically about 500mb each after conversion.

I echo most of the rest of the comments, I was totally ready to impulse buy the touchscreen ipod, but blah @ the size. I'm too lazy to pick and choose what to sync, so I'll just keep my old ipod until they up the size.

Well, $100 credit. That's not nearly as good.

If this credit is transferable (and I think it is, just a gift card), LFS Industries is happy to offer $80 for each one. PM for details.
