Default What to do for a year?

Ok, srs bidness.

I'm planning on going back to school in the fall of next year. I know all of the arguments about not going back to school, but I've thought about this a lot, and I basically don't know anything that I would need in order to accomplish what I'm wanting to do right now and I feel this is the best way to learn that and make connections.

However, this still means I have from now until next August-ish to fill. I'd like to make some money b/c I'm dropping towards brokedom, but I'd also like to do something where I can get good recommendations. Of course, these recommendations are only going to be good if they know I'm planning to leave in a year, not if I tell them I'm going to start working for them, and then tell them a few months later that I'd like some LORs so I can leave.

I am doing a little work with some companies I had contact with before on some software/mini-consulting things, but there isn't enough money here for me to pull that off for a year.

So, I'm trying to juggle the wants of having a job that pays at least decently, can give a good recommendation, and will know and understand that I plan on leaving shortly. Ideas?

What kind of school are you going back for? What kind of business do you want to go into? Get a job that corresponds to one or both of these.

Business school. I looked into some financial internships (even though that's not my desired field), but haven't found many that are for post-college students and pay well enough for enough hours.

Why do you have to wait until next fall to go back?

Full time schools (notably GT where I would like to go) don't start students in the spring semester. Already tried to look into it.

Ga State will start students any semester, but only does PT which I don't want to do. However, they are the 8th best PT school in the country. Which one of these is not like the other:

1. New York University (Stern)
2. University of Chicago
3. Northwestern University (Kellogg) (IL)
4. University of California–Los Angeles (Anderson)
5. University of California–Berkeley (Haas)
6. University of Southern California (Marshall)
7. University of Michigan–Ann Arbor (Ross)
8. Georgia State University (Robinson)

Emory does FT/PT but costs like $36k per year vs GT's $6k.

I would love to start in the spring, but considering GT is only 5 spots behind Emory in the rankings (25 v 20), 60k cheaper, and doesn't focus as much on previous work experience (like my one year) it seems like the best fit and I don't want to have to keep it off my list.
