Default Turn Vbet gets raised

Villain is 42/10/1.9

Full Tilt Poker - No Limit Hold'em Cash Game - $0.25/$0.50 Blinds - 6 Players - (LegoPoker Hand History Converter)

SB: $161.15
BB: $39.95
Hero (UTG): $51.15
MP: $50.70
CO: $98.75
BTN: $33.60

Preflop: Hero is dealt A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (6 Players)
Hero raises to $2.00, 4 folds, BB calls $1.50

Flop: ($4.25) 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 Players)
BB checks, Hero bets $3.00, BB calls $3.00

Turn: ($10.25) 3[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 Players)
BB checks, Hero bets $6.50, BB raises to $13.00, Hero calls $6.50

River: ($36.25) 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 Players)
BB bets all-in for $21.95, [i]Hero?

Can I call this river profitably? Would checking the turn have been a better line or even shoving on the turn?

usually these guys c/minraise the flop for a bluff. But the turn check/minraise is always for value. I probably call too. But i Fold this river.

you either fold or shove turn. u called the turn, so why fold river? thinking he might slow down?

I really want to fold the turn here. I don't think he does this without an 8. However, once you call the turn, you have to call the river. I don't think he was c/r'ing you w/ just a diamond draw.

so basically, you made your decision on the turn when you just called his min-cr.

Oh, and *always* bet that turn, the bet amounts are fine.

He calls you flop bet with a FD, an 8, a Q, a gutshot perhaps or a PP like 99, TT even JJ. At first, I would say bet at least 8 on the turn. If you do so and he still minraises you have a decision to make ( big news...! ). I can't believe he minraises you with the FD, pocket 33 is unlikely, so he either has the Q or the 8 ( or a bluff ???). I think that the main decision should be taken on the turn. If you call the turn, you call almost all river cards. Shoving on the turn is the same as calling the river except the case of bluff. So, I really do not what you should do
