Default 200-400 3 bet turn or not

was wondering if people thought +ev to 3bet turn here. parliaments been losing but not really getting out of line. but he does like to get animal with me sometimes. a couple of questions. what can he 4 bet with if i 3 bet? should i pay him off if he 4 bets turn and bets river? will he call the river with as little as a7 if i 3 bet turn and bet river?

I think you need to be 3 betting this. If you aren't 3 towning A8 here he can really take advantage of you. It's also great for your image, and +EV too as I think he will call u down with worse plenty. Put it this way - I used to semi bluff 3 bet this turn quite a bit, I don't any more, and there is a reason why I made that change..... If he caps, well, I'll deal with that at the time.

I don't see how you could not 3-bet the turn here since (I assume) his range is so huge. He can have any pair, any 7, any spades, QT, maybe some other random T's, bad A's, etc.

I don't know how likely it is he'll pay off on the river, but calling here and checking the river, and calling here and donking the river both seem significantly worse value-wise as sometimes he'll take a free showdown and sometimes he'll be on a busted draw. If he can get real aggro sometimes, you should definately call down if 4-bet given the drawy board.

i dont think any sane player on 200/400 are bluff raising the turn with as low as A hi.
raising on turn will get them to fold bigger nothing (Qhi, Khi, other random raising crap), costing themself one bet if SB actually has anything when they fire river again ... best case scenario is that they will get "free" SD but its 2 BBs in any case (raising turn or call/call).

Do NOT 3 bet this in any case. You protect yourself from his monsters and gain when he holds hopeless hand(s) he is bluffing with. Hand is not worth that much money. Get to SD cheaply if possible.
His range is dangerously wide and that is why you dont mess with that but u tend to SD more.

Take his BB behaviour in consideration. Is he a light 3 bettor? Mega BB defender, not givng up to button and SB steals (67%+) that plays everything in same manner?

In a vacuum, it's an easy call. You have to figure out if its right to 3 bet for meta-game reasons. My guess is that its probably not.

I think calling twice is way better than 3-betting.

Positives of 3-ball:

Charge all draws maximum.
Value vs. 8x & lower pairs
Meta-game

Negatives:

What draw does he have? What's our river plan?
Reverse value vs. 9x & >
He 4 bet - now what?

3 bet and don't fold anywhere. There's a million hands he could be semi-bluffing with, he could be going for a free showdown, and he could just plain be betting for value with worse. Since his semi-bluffing range is so wide, even if I'm capped in this spot I'm probably still going to check-call a bad river.

IMO putting in 5BBs here on the turn/river is crazy. Value wise I think it is close to a three bet. I'd definitely want to win the 3BBs tho, and a lot of his hands may fold to the three bet.

I think it is close, but Im leaning toward calling the turn and check calling a blank river, bet/3bet an ace river, and bet folding some other rivers >T.
