I'm not crazy, this 3bet is a very questionable play, right?

UTG is 16/11 over the 80 hands I have on him. CO is a very well respected 2+2er who generally plays higher stakes who is running like 26/22

Why not reraise preflop? This hand will be difficult to play post flop oop. Bet/fold flop as played I guess...

I normally fold with a hand like this to a preflop 3-bet if I'm OOP against a good player and effective stacks are 100bb's or less. I think at higher higher limits such as this calling once-in-a-while is ok because you can play your flopped draws fast and count on having some FE.

My first thought would be to consider what his 3-bet bluff the day before meant. Was it just one of those board texture bluffs where he knew you could only continue with a very small range of hands? Or do you think he was making a move on you based on a read that he thinks you play strong hands fast but c/r with air?

I this you should play this however you would play a set OOP in a 3-bet pot with this board against this villain (considering what you think his earlier move on you meant). The only reason I might deviate from that line is if it might lead to him getting his chips in before you. You want some FE if all your chips are going in.

Wow, I feel like a politician with that response...

Just last week, I learned what a "cold call" meant in "no limits." What's your point?

[/ QUOTE ]

What's it mean?

I've been told it's smooth-calling a 3-bet.

I always thought a cold call meant flat calling any bet or raise, unless someone else had already called in which case it would be an overcall.

Does anyone want to raise?

[/ QUOTE ]

I pretty much always raise there. I almost always see a draw or weak top pair when they donk the turn like that.

[/ QUOTE ]

The problem I have with raising is it pretty much has to be a shove. It's $12 to us with $52 in the pot and we have only $81.50 behind. This villain doesn't seem bad enough to call off with his flush draws getting about 2-to-1 so even if he's calling with a few hands we beat mostly if we get called we're way behind. And I'm not sure TT is worth raising for protection.

Damn this hand is tricky. I liked calling the turn because I don't want to fold and I don't like raising (for the reasons noted above) but then villain shoves on a J [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] river and I said fold getting almost 2-to-1 which also sucks.

I think Devin had it right: call turn, call river shove unless it's a bad card.
