LHE Isolation Reraise

What is a good rule for the amount of equity you need to attempt an isolation reraise in LHE? 50% does sound reasonable, but does your position affect the equity that you need? What if you are in early position or middle position with very loose players behind you, that are just as likely to call 3 bets cold as they are to call 2 bets cold?
