somebody get that guy some adderal

[/ QUOTE ]
irony.. i'm prescribed it. that's probably why i want to flip so much! the stuff makes you bonkers for flippage!

[/ QUOTE ]

Straterra FTW.

[/ QUOTE ]
is that the stuff that you take one of in the morning and it lasts all day? my psychiatrist said i could try it if i was interested in switching, but i declined. is it better? i take XR so it works well.

[/ QUOTE ]

Dosage depends on the person. I take two in the morning and am good all day. Basically it's an ADD that not a stimulant. This is pretty important to me since I have Tourette's Syndrome and anything speedy makes my tics absolutely terrible. Staterra works really well and might be a good idea if the Aderol gets you a bit wired.

[/ QUOTE ]
wait, so how does it work if it is not a stimulant? i sort of like the "wired" feeling that adderall gives me, but at times it can affect sleeping. otherwise, it's good. i have to believe that quitting it will not be easy.

I'd have to look it up again, but basically it blocks certain of the chemicals that make you easily distractable. The same concept is used in beta-blockers for people with anxiety disorder (the drug blocks some of the chemicals that induce beta waves). As far as quittin Adderal, discuss it with a doctor since it sticks in my head that quitting can be a bit aggravating, especially if you are on large doses of it.

In general I like that Straterra better than I liked Ritalin. It seems to take care of the concentration part without affecting much else.
