back from Vegas

i'm over poker

seriously, I'm over it

It just doesn't appeal that much to me anymore

I was stuck in quite a dilemma in Vegas and doubt I'll ever play much live poker again

my skillset is such that the $1/$2 and $2/$5 blinds games are so freaking boring that I want to eat my own tongue.
In addition, there is just no way to make as much on an hourly basis as I do rocking the 10+ tables online.

However, I don't have the mental make-up to handle the swings of higher games when I don't have multiple tables and whatnot to get to the long-run.

ummmmm....live players are getting better over the last few years. There aren't quite as many droolers. There are more nitty grinders. There are less people giving away their stacks with TP2K, etc. Hell, I even saw a few players applying the SLOB concept I wrote about in my poohbah post at $1/$2.

However, most of the better players at $1/$2 and $2/$5 have a huge amount of holes. Common mistakes:
-limp too much upfront and call raises out-of-position
-don't steal from loose limpers enough in late position
-don't have a plan for their hand at all
-call and overcall flop/turn/river leads with other players still left to act with mediocre hands (this one is HUGE and done over and over)

so, preflop hand ranges and calling ranges v big overbets post-flop are getting better

most everything else is still awful

also, too many decent players practice horrible game selection...just horrible

they are too caught up in playing at their favorite casino, or the one with the largest pokerroom

forget that...the $2/$5 game at the Palms played worse than the $25NL game on PStars this week

While we're on the subject of TVs. I have a question that is probably pretty stupid. If I buy the 40" TV for 110k fpp in the VIP store can I buy a cable and hook my laptop up to it and play on there? I was thinking this because at school I have limited desk space and definitely can't fit multiple monitors and only have a laptop anyways.

A couple of more issues I'm having with the stacking thingy. If a table breaks up, I'm sometimes sitting at a table alone and it gets burried at the bottom of the stack. Also I have timed out a couple of times and ended up sitting out in the stack as well.

Every once in a while, check through your stack to make sure everything's okay. Using the tabs in you taskbar, work right to left or left to right through all your tables.
