[ QUOTE ] LOL if you think the Kahwanake Gaming Commission is anything other than a regulatory front for the card rooms. [/ QUOTE ] Correct, AFAIK they have never even gotten involved in a dispute much less resolve one. [/ QUOTE ] FWIW, i lodged a complaint w/ them a few days ago -- it seems like a flimsy organization run by max 5-people. Apparently all they do is pass my complaint on to Absolute, and then relay Absolute's reply back to me. I was told that if i'm still unsatisfied, they will instigate an investigation on my behalf, but i highly doubt this is going to happen. |

Nobody want to hear that the winning stats is not very suspicious at all. In fact, those stats are expected if we look in a very large dataset (all high stakes poker hands the last couple of years) with very high variance (it has been suggested that this villain plays a style that has a SD of 270PTBB/100 estimated from observed data) Instead, people wants to believe that these stats has a 1:10^20 probability. why? People wants to believe he cheated. |

[ QUOTE ] and its quite obv that the styles are very different. you continually ignore this. why? [/ QUOTE ] I don't think it is easily available. There are bits and pieces all over the place and blah blah blah [/ QUOTE ] At first I was going to post a response mocking Krum for wanting to be spoonfed instead of looking at the evidence himself, but then I decided to take a different tack. If you all want to get the story out, you are going to have to spoonfeed it to people. Journalists, Krum, everyone. I know this is already the common goal, but when you're putting together the short-and-sweet one-pager to go to magazines and newspapers, think of your audience as being Krum. I mean, look at the response on Freakanomics - "maybe they're psychic". People are dumb. It will take a fair amount of work to put something both short, compelling, and understandable together or else people will just miss it. I'm willing to help if I can. |

Re: Absolute Cheating
Someone mentioned earlier using the casinomneister. I wouldnt. As the link below shows, and from some of the frankly illogical posts on here show, it often comes down to who is is paying who (IMHO).
I think this thread is relevent to how gambling businesses respond to being caught cheating and how websites which are so "affilliate heavy" as the casinomeister will assist them in papering over it. This relates to a casino called English Harbrour who were found to have been running cheating software : http://www.casinomeister.com/forums/casi...r-cheating.html Its a bit of a read but quite astonishing. Unbelievable in fact. The relevence to this thread is it gives an insight into how gambling businesses react when they are "busted". From that thread you coukld predict APs response will similarly run along the lines of : 1. Don't admit anything (As it will then be forever a fact) Keep things vague 2. Don't address the issues .. be vaugue and as silent as possible. Never answer any direct questions about the issue. Just like the police say when they want to talk to someone they have suspicions about ... if their first response is to refuse to talk openly then you can bet your bottom dollar that they have something they want to hide. Sadly, it works. 3. Employs your shills and affiliates to try and flame and discredit threads 4. Let time kill it off. Maybe a heartfelt apology about something innocent like technological problems (again all vaguely written). New players will appear again over the coming months and noone can ever be 100% sure what exactly happened (except those that read all the threads will know whatever it was it resulted in players being cheated). And, sadly, i think that this is how this will go. The internet is anonymous and so spam heavy it is hard to ever see anything definitive and truly independent. This allows it to go on. If it was B&M then local news teams, investigation programmes, etc would show an interest but a business located in such a vague place (even we arent sure where they are based) involving internet players whio are all over the place ... they wont bother. Good stuff you have all done though. Its jaw-dropping to be honest and I like the way this forum lets you all give your own opinions without having to follow a certain line. |

Re: Absolute Cheating
Lori, I remember a post you made awhile ago in which you investigated the KGC - it seemed pretty conclusive that it is indeed just a front for various cardrooms (also numerous shady ones according to CM) and it's unlikely that they will do anything at all.

It is approximately the last thing any of us would ever want to believe. |
