I saw this on another site and I liked the shine effect boobs are nice also. I don't know how to do it myself. Can someone give me a few hints? I can make similar stuff but it takes lots of work there must be a short cut out there some type of filter. I want to use the effect to make borders for avatars that shine/glisten/sparkle ect.

Well, the way I'd do it (and I'm not into the supertechnical filter stuff so I may not be doing it right) is to first create a semitransparent layer that is in the shape of the sparkle. Then you just move that layer along one step at a time making a new frame in a GIF animator (I use Paint Shop Pro and it's built in Animation Shop program). Seems pretty simple. They didn't do anything to complicated with the sparkle like make it change sizes or anything.

See, here you go. I just threw this together in no time. 4 frames only in this one. The star is a layer at 70% Opacity. More frames and more time, you can make it awesome. Make the stars turn and/or change sizes as it moves and you get a real sparkle effect.

DK,

I tried your idea and it works but I still need to get the details right. I think when I get it figured it will be easy to apply to different avatars by saving the border animation layers and just pasting them over different background pics.

Still not what I had in my minds eye but pretty good for a first try. Thanks for the details on the method.

edit

check this method out I like the result they got i might try it next

Those all look pretty good. Yeah, with a little tinkering you'll get a look that is cool and easy and quick to pull off.

The method for that car is pretty cool. Essentially it's the same way I said (a semitransparent object moving over the image), but using layers to contain the shiny spots within a specified region.

Stuey, I need your help!

From around 20:00 - 20:06, starting from around the part where Jim throws the grenade and ending after Karen's paper clip explosion.

For this favor, I will project all good vibrations in your direction. Thanks!
