moving day friday. i love moving...when strictly adhering to the pack 20%, pitch 80% rule of course. caught another nice break recently in regards to the new nest. with the nice new pay raise i was able to reserve a decent amount of rent 'budget' in the 13 plan, while still paying back 100%+ in fairly short order. but public bustoness, shipping off the house, a dog and two cats in tow, the options were limited.

i didn't mind going back to the apartment thing, but scoring a nice new duplex def. served the kiddo better. a spent a couple months calling ones that popped up, usually getting shot down by the pet thing...before even getting into the other problems. i had just gone through the application process for our plan-b apartment when i found another nice place nearby go up.

saving him the standard rent-my-duplex-cause-its-sweet speech, i offered up the pet thing straight up. "eh, i don't mind", he says. getting passed the major hurdle i find out he's a work-from-home coder dude like me, headed off to texas. we hit it off well looking over the place & sailed through the rest of the black marks without issue.

soooooo, moving about 1 mile away, into a "nicer" place than my current house. as owner of the place, the guy decked out his half pretty nice. fancy wood work, lighting, and all that jazz. he finished off 1/2 of the basement - where steph is laying the ground work for her own little "apartment" (well lit with a couple large egress windows, full bath, etc.).

kid is extremely excited. i'm looking forward to putting this place behind. i couldn't have picked a better place for us if i'd been in a position to be choosy. "chapter 13" of this book is turning out ok [img]/images/graemlins/wink.gif[/img]

rigged pro-rated vacation the rest of this year...but i might be in a better spot for a reunion LV trip early next year. we need to set something up! get micro,s6's, a couple other old farts together for a weekend. sticking to the poker retirement, i think i'd better enjoy drunken flirting at a blackjack table though [img]/images/graemlins/wink.gif[/img]

Great to hear Dave back on his Bluefeet. I'd be a tad wary of the "egress windows" at her age, but whatever. My son's not in the neighborhood, so she's (he's??) prolly safe.

If you guys are going to Vegas anytime as a whole, I'm definitely there no matter what. We can 1/2 speed balla the Bingo parlors and Mechanical Horse Machines together.

Of COURSE you're on the short list for the senior weekend slacka! I know a lot of halls have evening bingos (like 8pm types). It'll give us something to do after skip goes to sleep.
