[ QUOTE ] It seems like there are new postgres.exe processes started each time I make a new Sixth Sense search and the processes does not seem to die. Do you create new connections to the database each time a new search is made and forget to close them at the end of the search??? [/ QUOTE ] Does this only happen for me? If its not a firewall issue, or some network issue, I don't know what could be causing it. If you have access to some other computer try installing it fresh on that machine. That's all I can think of. Or do a virus scan on your computer to see if its possibly infected with something. -Ben |

could i just uninstall it and reinstall it? [/ QUOTE ] Yes. Uninstall SS, then physically delete the SS directory under "Program Files". Then reinstall it. |

Re: New Software Announcement - SIXTH SENSE
arrghhh, this is really annoying! i uninstalled it then reinstalled and still the same problem. this is crazy, it was working perfectly and i liked it (hence i subscribed) and now i must of changed something and it's all gone [censored].
could it possibly be becuase i downloaded the MS .NET framework 2.0? (i did this to get partyplanner but this doesnt work either). arrgghhhh. thanks for all your suggestions. there clearly is something ive done. shall i try downloading postgres? ive checked on 'test connection' that my database is now definitely correct. |

YYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE EEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!
restarting it worked! turned out it was becuase of my sodding mcafree protection. i must not of noticed the first time when it pops in the corner saying whether i will allow program x (in this case SS) access to the internet. clearly i didnt notice this the first time, hence it wasnt connecting to the server. sorry to of wasted your time and i am very grateful for your suggestions. |
