Re: New Software Announcement - SIXTH SENSE
[ QUOTE ]
i just tried that, ive never had my firewall on! oops. so i put it on and added SS as an exception. ive checked things like game filter and its still set to 2-4nl and 3-6nl so thats fine. i may of opened the aggregator since last time it worked (i dont really know what it does but i dont seem to need it). when i click on config databases it says: PT agg running: running PT agg first scan: not finished PT agg database: not created that may give you some clues, im not sure. many thanks again. [/ QUOTE ] What does the option to use PT aggregator say? If its checked, but the agg database is not created, that's a problem. |

Re: New Software Announcement - SIXTH SENSE
okay i just did that. i now have:
(tick) ptrack.mdb Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0;Data Source=C:/Program Files/Poker Tracker V2/ptrack.mdb;Persist Security Info =False (/ are the other way round). when i clicked on auto detection it asks for my Postgres Password. I have no idea what that means so i just clicked on okay/yes. it then says i need to select the pokertracker folder in the next dialog box, which i do, and it comes up with the above it still doesnt work, ive tried closing and loading it up again. |

Re: New Software Announcement - SIXTH SENSE

[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] It seems like there are new postgres.exe processes started each time I make a new Sixth Sense search and the processes does not seem to die. Do you create new connections to the database each time a new search is made and forget to close them at the end of the search??? [/ QUOTE ] Does this only happen for me? [/ QUOTE ] I'll check on that. Depending on Postgres' caching system it might be normal to do that. I'm sure that the connection gets freed, but the ADO driver for it is pretty buggy, so its possible it doesn't auto close the connection. -Ben [/ QUOTE ] It does not look normal. Actually after making a lot of searches, I'm not able to search at all until I restart Sixth Sense and the postgres.exe processes dies. It might certainly be a problem with the ADO driver. Perhaps it would be a better idea to keep the connections and reuse them instead of opening new connections for each search. |
