I've been there a couple of times and watched it from the rail but I haven't had the time to sit as of yet. Looks very good though.

I've managed to lose about $75 in the crappy bingo slot machines in the 2 times I've played since they got put in.

I'd like to send my wife in there for a few hours while I play poker but the machines are tight and the clientle would scare a 50 year old carney, which is saying something for even San Pablo.

Anyone know which Bay Area casino has the most favorable rake structure for 3-6 / 4-8 limit holdem? I'm planning on heading out next week with a couple of friends. Any 2p2ers want to meet up?

1) You won't find 4/8 in the bay area

2) Stay away from rooms with a jackpot drop if you don't want to be completely raped by the rake. Of course, "most favorable 3/6 rake structure" is somewhat akin to "best dentist for unanesthetized root canals" -- it's gonna hurt no matter what.

Thanks for the heads up. I didn't realize there was no 4-8 in Bay Area. Any thoughts on Artichoke Joes versus Lucky Chances and Bay101 for low limit Hold'em?

Pretty much ditto what Tapin said with one little exception. Where I play 3/6 & 4/8 locally, there is a $4 drop. One of those dollars goes towards the jackpot.

When I play at Garden City (only a handful of times so far) there is a $4 drop with no jackpot. Playing 6/12 minimizes the effect of the drop, but costs me more in gas to get there. Pick your poison.

Either way, the games are soft and profitable. I recommend 6/12 at either Bay101 or Garden City.

never been to artichoke Joes or Bay 101 but Lucky chances is pretty nice. They have alot of tables and a pretty good selection of games. I mostly play NL and they have a $100, $200-$500, and $1000 game. pretty standard rake structure, $4 with $1 jackpot.
I am down to meet up with other 2+2ers also if you wanna meet somewhere.
