You meet a man on the street who says he has two children, both in his car. One child gets out and is a boy. What is the probability that the child remaining in the car is also a boy? [/ QUOTE ] Do we assume the chances of having a boy is 50% for each birth (and thus unaffected by sex of siblings)? If so, I'm going with 50%. |

Re: Turkey Talk: November Low Content Thread
So I was driving to the cardroom yesterday......
I was going along on the 405 North in the fast lane, I hear a roar and look to my left and there is this lag on a cycle doing a wheelie in the diamond lane going at least 80. He kept it up for a good 15 seconds. Then if that wasn't enough, about a minute later he stands up on his bike(on the seat!) for about a minute straight still going like 80. He 3 barrels it about a few minutes later by dropping way back in the carpool lane and repeating the wheelie thing for about 15 seconds. Man I tell ya, those dealers are a wacky bunch |

Re: Turkey Talk: November Low Content Thread
pretty lol 20/40 game last night. some highlights
1) i get 99 AJo OTB. 3 limpers to me. however, it looks like the 2nd limper (loose passive) has raised it up PF as he has two green ($25) chips in front of him and the 3rd limper is concealing his cards. Thus I muck. I die a little inside when the flop comes J9x. wow i'm dumb. And then at the end of the hand, the 2nd limper shows 99 for a set. LOL thanks for unintentionally saving me a few hundred! 2) I saw a player not raise the top full boat on the river HU and then, on the next hand, donk a counterfeit two pair into a four flush board on the turn into 5 players. 3) I saw another player check behind the river with the absolute nuts (broadway straight). said player also cold called a raise PF with 24o. 4) another donk had a curious habit of raising A5-AT and limping AJ-AK. way to mix it up i guess 5) At least 3 of the players at the table thought that Q5o was a decent starting hand 6) At least 3 of the players at the table played any ace preflop and then called any single flop bet, regardless of the board, to try to spike their Ace on the turn in short, the played very similarly to my old 4/8 game at foxwoods. it might have been a bit easier. my highlight was winning an $800 pot with an unimproved KK. total take for the night = 20 BB. good times! |

Re: Turkey Talk: November Low Content Thread
I was practicing at an FTP play money table while stuck at home today. It was 6 max 1000/2000, I raised ATo in the HJ and got called by the BB. The flop came QJ8, so I'm double gutted with one pretty clean overcard. BB c/r me and I threeball. He goes into calldown mode, I spike an A on the rivvvvvar, valuebet and drag de pot.
He proceeds to begin berating me. I'm "obv terrible" and my hand wasn't "worth a 3bet". I loled. Does getting berated happen online a lot? |

Re: Turkey Talk: November Low Content Thread
2 fun 20/40 hands:
1) passive UTG raises, donkey UTG+1 CC's, 2 more donks CC, I CC cutoff with 77, blinds call. 7 to flop flop is T74 two tone. UTG checks, 2 donks checks, 3rd donk bets, i raise, 2 callers, UTG+1 now wakes up and 3 bets, others fold, I cap, some folds, UTG PFR calls (LOL must play AK to river!), UTG+1 calls. turn 3 (no flush), checked to me (ZOMG UTG+1 you has flush draws?) I bet, UTG calls drawing dead obv, UTG+1 now CR's me AGAIN, I stare into his soul and decide he has TT and fold. (j/k i called down and saw his TT. nh sir) 2) solid player raises UTG, a donkey cold calls, I 3 bet red KK in hijack, terrible button calls 3 cold, even worse BB calls 2, everyone else calls. Flop is 653 rainbow. UTG leads, 1 caller, i raise, button decides to 3 bet, bb calls 3 cold with god knows what, UTG calls, the 1st caller calls with his random cards, I cap, everyone calls. Turn another 6 putting up a flush draw. I like this card. Checked to me I bet, button raises again (WTF you have 33 sir?) others fold. i call. river blank (like a 9) i c/c and he has A7s for a missed huge draw on the turn. 20/40 gogogogogo |

Re: Turkey Talk: November Low Content Thread
happy bday one outer! how old are you?
yeah, people table coach/berate online all the time. IMO, it's usually pretty funny. i actualy enjoy it and find a way to play along depending on how things have unfolded in the session. i usually encourage/antagonize as well. nothings better than a guy telling me how horrible i am for c/r the flop with a flush draw and drawing out on his top pair or whatever. |

When I play SNGs online I turn off the chat. It hurts my brain too much.
