So when they drafted him they had no idea about how fast and strong he was and how good was his stamina?

c'mon. The idea that there are these super athletes in NFL who are better than any other sportsmen in the world at everything is just ridiculous.

You asked why they pay him so little, they pay him so little because he has little leverage in negotiations. His only option if he doesn't sign is to not get paid anything for a year and go back into the draft.

ok then i guess we agree to disagree

better in what way? at short sprints and bursts? arcticknights post was by far the best in the thread. it's just hilarious to me that you believe that the NFL has vastly superior athletes to other multi million dollar sports in the world. very very funny.

dean i dont think you know enough about the nfl to argue positional relations, and salary negotiations with tolbiny.

as far as if the nflers could beat the rugby guys i think its closer than you brits think but not an absolute certainty.

how can you possibly tell they are stronger? rofl

faster, maybe, perhaps because THEY ARE NOT RUNNING NON-STOP FOR 80 MINUTES?

agile, maybe, maybe not

Listen, why do you think that 6'3 295lb guys just don't exist at the upper echelon of rugby? Is it because the UK, Ireland, France, Argentina, South Africa, Samoa, NZ, Aus, Tonga etc. don't have fast and/or strong guys? Hint: no, it's because 6'3 295lb guys tend not to have the stamina/athletic attributes to succeed at the top level. Not only would Tommie Harris not be in the top 5% of pro rugby players, he'd not be anywhere near. I seriously doubt he could make a living as a rugby player, unless he shed some fat/muscle. Similarly there's a reason why someone like Mike Catt wouldn't make it in the NFL. He's a skillful, smart, very well coordinated, strong athlete, but not exceptional at any one thing so he'd have no chance.

Yeti is right, Arcticknight's post.
