I mean the ones that evaluate whether or not a trade works under the cap. That way, all the people who are forced to read about our fantasy basketball league can at least amuse themselves by coming up with ways to improve the teams.

Advice #1- Don't draft players that are mediocre and are out for the season.

And my comment was that if I had a salary cap question I would go to Clark or Alex.

We should get someone to build one of those ESPN Trade Machines for our league.

Apparently, it's called "IrishHand"

I was thinking of doing a little diddy in excel to do this. If I get around to it I'll email you it. Seems fairly simple.

edit: or perl, cuz I'm not sure how to write boolean logic in excel, or if you even can, but I would think such a powerful program could.

I don't think you need magic to figure out "if team taking more salary is over the cap, salaries in deal must be within 10% or 0.5M of each other."

I think it's called excel and the formula is something like (Salary A + Salary B)*.9 = target salary

excel = software LDO. I'm just trying to be nerdy and think of ways to minimize user effort.

edit: Removed equation cuz it was retardedly wrong.

Or, just trade with me and I'll take care of all the pesky cap calculations for you.

You don't seem to get it. Obv it's easy to do the calc once an offer is on the table. It takes two seconds.

The tool would be cool as a way to quickly analyze a slew of trades. i.e., I see team X has player Y on the block. I can then check a few options really quickly to see if they even work.

But I doubt I'll put that much effort into it, so I'll stop gaying up the thread about it.
