His jump on that ball was so much more impressive than the catch. Wow.

Those unnecessary dives sure do make the plays look much more spectacular.

[/ QUOTE ]

i guess he should attempt a shoestring catch and let the ball get by if he misses. the dive is the easiest way to make the play.

two huge parts of pitching:

- not making mistakes that lead to homers
- working out of jams

[/ QUOTE ]

You should be a pitching coach.

BTW, Carmona is pitching like a billion times better than Pettitte tonight.

[/ QUOTE ]

yeah, they might as well give the indians two runs and the victory

[/ QUOTE ]

Do you really think that Pettitte is pitching better because we haven't scored yet?

[/ QUOTE ]

not at all. carmona is pitching better. but a billion times better? no.

Okay, but it's hard to ignore that Pettitte has given up a lot of baserunners, and Carmona is one pitch away from seven innings of one hit ball. Carmona has been significantly better tonight...Pettitte has been able to work out of jams in part because we're beating ourselves (Lofton's boner, Droob swinging at that pitch, etc.).
