I could stop the dog by myself. No need for an NFL football team.

yes suzzer i know what a clothesline is but for example my dogs chest is about a foot off the ground, I would have to be laying prone to clothesline her.

Or just lunging low and shooting out parallel to the ground. I've done it to my dog when she was driving me nuts running around while we were trying to watch a movie. Flipped her right in the air. She yelped and peed(sp?) herself a little. I felt very bad.

You don't know what clothesline is? Basically they would lunge out and swing their arm into the dogs chest as hard as they could as it was running by. Probably flipping it, and then the other guys could pile on.

[/ QUOTE ]

Soooo the players are going to be laying on the ground when the dog runs by?

[/ QUOTE ]

What part of getting low and diving into the dog is so hard for you guys to comprehend?

I assume the movie was in some sort of dwelling, an enclosed dwelling. I also assume you would see the difference in clotheslining a dog in your living room and clotheslining a dog running full speed on a football field.

I have dived at and tackled my dog when she was fighting and I couldn't catch hold of her collar but I wouldn't have called it clotheslining her. Anyway, whatever.

If you run straight at the dog, it's going to have enough time to change direction on you. If one dude is chasing the dog, and other dives straight into the dog at a 90 degree angle to the dogs path, as the dog is running by, that might surprise the dog enough that the person can make contact. You see what I'm saying? Also in my world the dog is not wearing a collar and you can't grab its hair.

the football team can line up a few feet apart and cover the entire field...then as dog gets closer they can shift left/right depending on where dog is positioned and block his path

And the dog will turn around and run the other way and most likely corner them once they are out of position.

Everyone picking dog is stuck in football mentality where every inch matters and defenders lunge at the football carriers. If the dog wins only by scoring a touchdown, the team doesn't have to chase the dog they can let the dog come to them.

We used to play a similar game with my Golden Retriever. Throw a ball, have her go to get it, she would try to fetch it back to the porch, one of my friends would try to tackle her before she got back. When she was a puppy, it was incredibly easy to tackle her. When she became full-grown, she was impossible to stop.

There is way too much field for 11 guys to stop a dog that actually knows what its doing here. If the dog actually wants to score, there is virtually no way it can be stopped.
