There is no way of proving or disproving this, and it's silly for you to make some proclamation like that.

In addition to helping you be a better hitter, steroids also help you recover from injuries faster, so it's possible Bonds would have broken down and had to retire years ago without the help of the juice.

We just don't know.

Even without roids and if his body broke down, I say he still easily hits 600. Thats why this whole thing is such a mess. If this were McGuire or Sosa, it would be easy to say roids gave them everything, because they were crap players without it. Bonds hit a lot of HR and won several MVPs, and was a cinch HOFer before his roids days. Does Bonds belong in the hall? Absolutely. Is his soon to be HR record legit? No.

I come out just the opposite. He played in those major league games, and hit those homers, so I can't see how you take the record from him. Major league baseball [censored] this up royally, but what is done is done. The number of homers he hit is an objective fact.

And I als agree that he would have made the hall without steriods. I wonder whether he would have broke the record without them; probably not. But he probably would have ended up with over 600 hrs, AND he was a better fielder before the er, head size, increase.

But the fact is that he chose to take them and he lied about it. He has discredited and attacked people who have truthfully stated that he took steroids. And his trainer (a boyhood friend) is in jail currently becasue Barry won't man up and admit his role in this. The Hall is a subjective honor, and he doesn't deserve that honor, despite his abilities.
