I think the review is far less interesting than the utter nonthruthiness of her notions about why she left 2p2.

[/ QUOTE ]

Indeed. Her inability to be genuine and addiction to portraying herself as a victim makes for an unfortunate mix. Adding attempts to come off as clever, funny, and clear-thinking on top of that just makes her seem all the more arch, brittle, and self-absorbed.

Funny thing is, for a good while I did a lot of defending of Elaine while she was here. But it seems that as soon as she established a negative momentum here on the forums, she did everything she could to make it grow as much as possible. And now that she's long gone, she still hasn't let up and still thrives on it. She definitely makes trying to see things her way and give her a fair hearing a thankless and ultimately pointless job. It's one thing to have a persecution complex, but another to make people WANT to persecute you and still another to keep feeding them reasons. There's a lot of negativity in that lady.

Blarg,

Nice 24,400th post.

That thread was an interesting read. In addition to steamboatin's complete inability to properly quote posts, he throws OOT under the bus in her blog! Dude better not show his face around these parts, since we're so mean and into horse sex, etc. etc.

I could barely read your response while undergoing my daily rectal demolition-by-horse, but after my ears stop ringing from my own screams, I'll get back to you with a thank-you.

I unfortunately cannot find the "Plastic Vigneault Band" photoshop I made in the last Elaine thread. Anyone remember the thread I'm talking about?

Also, based on my experience with the "Free Nate" ordeal, Mason can be a douchebag, but yeah... Elaine seems a little nuts.

Blarg,

"That said, the main thing wrong with the review seems to me that it's not a review at all. When you start throwing superlatives around, like that it's a "great book," it's pretty fair to say that you should have at least read the damn thing. Very lame."

I didn't actually read much of the blog thread or 2+2 thread. If she did not actually read the book, then I agree it is super lame of her to post a positive "review."

ElD - agree.

If I were to somehow write a book about anything and my GF or Mom or sister mentioned that they wanted to review it positively on Amazon or someplace to help give it some momentum I would say, "No way! Definitely don't that."

It wouldn't even matter to me whether they read it or not actually.
I think it would be super-lame either way but perhaps a half-level higher on the lameness scale if they had not read it.

its hard not to admit that 2+2 is much more juvenile than it was 2 years ago.

Maybe it is just you aging two years. 2+2 was just as juvenile two years ago.

She attempts to tie it to a specific issue. It's more about the fact that she was one of the absolute worst, most argumentative, and contrary posters in OOT. As a pretty out there feminist/vegan she took issue with a lot of OOT, and rather than accept that she was just unlike everybody else, she just bitched about how everybody was wrong. It wasn't just one mod, there was a mass culling vote and she was leading by a pretty significant margin. The horse porn bit had very, very little to do with it.

She also got very upset when a gimmic account that she used (OtisTheMarsupial) was outed by one of the OOT mods.

I'm sure others can add more.
