Re: What is the greatest sporting event you have attended?
Being an old fart I've got quite a few...Game 5 1984 NLCS Padres beat the Cubs...Game 4 NLDS Padres beat the Astros to win series. The Murph was rockin'...July 2005 Yankees at Angels, Vlad hits a grand slam to beat the Yanks. The best, most intense regular season game I have ever been at. The Big A was insane...I was at what I think was the last regular season football game the Giants played at Yankee Stadium. It was against the Dolphins the year the Fins were undefeated. I was in high school and me and my friends went down on the field with about 7 minutes to go in the game (boy have times changed!). We stood on the Dolphin sideline and shook hands with Csonka, Kiick and Shula after the game. Someone got a football and we started a 'game', throwing passes, scoring TD's, sliding on the wet grass...in Yankee Stadium!...I've been lucky enough to attend a few of the ND-USC games in Los Angeles...I saw USC beat Oklahoma when they were ranked 1-2 in the early 80's. SC scored with seconds to go to win...I've been to 3 Rose Bowls including the National Championship games between Nebraska and Miami and Texas and USC (what a great one that was!). The 1st Rose Bowl was Wisconsin-UCLA and the Badger celebration after their victory was amazing. I was at the Final Four in 1983. I went to the Saturday games (NC St-Ga and Lou-Hou) but I didn't go to the final game (Doh!).

Re: What is the greatest sporting event you have attended?
I haven't been to a ton of sporting events, and no major ones for sure. The best one was an uneventful red sox game in September, 2000. I'm not even sure of the specifics, but I'm fairly certain it was this game.
It was freshman year of college. My friend and I were heading down Lansdown Street to go see the Dropkick Murphy's (I'm pretty sure it was at Bill's Bar). However, we see people just pouring out of Fenway through wide open exit gates. It's the 7th inning, they're down 8-1. So we forget the show, sneak in through the exit gates, and snag some sweet seats right along the 3b line in right field. We're maybe 7 rows back. That was my first time in Fenway, so that combined with the feeling of mischief by sneaking in was enough to make it awesome. On top of that, the final 2 innings were very exciting. The Sox scored 4 runs and made it somewhat interesting. |

Bears - Cardinals last year, Bears - Saints NFC championship, U of I vs UNC/Louisville/UW-Marquette.
No good cubs games yet, sadly. Somehow didn't go to Cubs-Marlins games. |

Derek Lowe's no hitter in April 2002. First no hitter in Fenway Park since 1965. [/ QUOTE ] You were at the right event that day. On the other hand, I was across town watching the Bruins outshoot the Habs 44-15 in the playoffs and still lose. |

I attended the 1998 NBA finals game 6 (Jordan's final game as a Bull). As a Jazz fan, this killed me:
