I also call min raises out of spite. long-time lurker but infrequent poster because im old and slow and by the time i have even thought out any repsonse, much less typed it, it has already been said cuz u guys r pretty smart, young and quick. i started typing this on sunday, ftw. seriously though, much respect for many of you here. QFT(i dont know what this means).

mike
won a few micro donkaments, then stopped playing online. Donked a lot of at live tournaments where i run fantastically well. i play better than meh but not excellent, good enough to smash micros and be dead money in bigger tourneys 4 micro final tables in about 1.5 weeks, 8,9,8,4....my end game is straight pwn. |

Re: New to 2+2 or HSMTT? Introduce yourself!
I might be the Orson Welles of online MTT poker - my career is running backwards. My debuts were masterpieces but more recently I'm eeking out a living doing the equivalent of voiceovers in adverts for disreputable lager.
Nice forum btw. |

Re: New to 2+2 or HSMTT? Introduce yourself!
Hi,
I'm Jeff. I've been playing poker a long time (since 2000) and am now currently playing for a living until my non-compete runs out in 3 months (programmer in the trading industry). I've done really well at cash games up to 10-20 NL. I recently played in the WSOP and realized that the fields were so bad that I want to try and win some tournaments. I've got deep stacked play down very well and am trying to pick up the nuances of short stack play in tournaments... The main reason im trying to crush tournaments is that I'm getting bored of cash games and need a change of pace. My tournament history: I won like $650 in a free roll in stars (18th out of 2500) back in 02. I won an entry to the WSOP this year on full tilt (12k), and I have one first place finish in a $100 on full tilt like a year ago for $6.5k. I rarely play these things (maybe 1-2 tournaments / month if that), so hopefully my luck will continue with some big cashes. |

Re: New to 2+2 or HSMTT? Introduce yourself!
Hi I am JF and to many of you, at 38 years of age, I am an old nit. For a living, I practice geotechnical and environmental engineering (Ph.D.).
I like 2+2 a lot and definitly think this is the best place to find advice/discuss Poker on the net. I lurk almost daily and sometimes will post questions and/or opinions. I must be a donk however, since my post/opinions always get bashed by many. In my career as a poker player, I have add a few good results and took many hearthbreaking suckouts. When I look at it objectively, I think I must be sick to be playing as much poker as I do, since I only get a few good results for many bad suckouts. But there is something about poker that keeps me coming back; I guess it is the challenge (oh yeah and I am also in the black). |

Re: New to 2+2 or HSMTT? Introduce yourself!
I am Darcy.
I run/play well when the $$$ aren't significant. Due to my avatar, everyone here initially thinks I'm a thoughtful old man. Then they met me and think I'm a middle aged (35) drunk degen. The truth is somewhere in between. |
