You really think Dunn is that much greater than Ichiro? My lost HRs won't hurt me too much?

[/ QUOTE ]

I think the opposite. Ichiro is that much greater than Dunn, especially since you don't use RBI. Losing the HR does hurt, and if you're in a tight race in that category you might not want to make the deal. On the other hand, Ichiro can really help you out in steals, runs, and OBP (Ichiro projects 60 pts higher the last time I ran the numbers). You'd give away a little slugging and a ton of HRs. Bonds would help make up for that as you'd be able to put Cust on your bench where he is much more valuble. You don't really make up that many HR's here, but can gain immensely in the percentage categories. Cust and Dunn are basically the same player right now, and that's not saying anything good about Cust. Dunn has more name recognition, so you trade him. Obviously if you could get Ichiro for Cust, you'd do it, right?

Edited to add: One more thing on Dunn. What happens if he gets traded to San Diego? We could litterally be looking at a projection of .190/.290/.440 in that park. Shea wouldn't be a good place for him either. The reality of it is, without RBI, even getting traded to the Yankees would be bad for Dunn's value. Sell now, before it's too late.

Alright I proposed Haren and Cust for Bonds and Putz. He turned it down. It does sound like, however, that he will take Bonds for Haren.

However, another possible trade I could use Haren in is: Haren, Rollins and Cust for Griffey Jr OR Ichiro, Mariano and Renteria.

Thoughts?

I really appreciate your help so far. This is my first year ever seriously playing fantasy.

Wow everyone in my league wants Dan Haren

Sorry to spam the thread but now I've got a possible offer:

Isringhausen and Reyes

for

Haren and Rollins

Just to give you the layout of my league:

For some reason the fact that it is head to head (with 10 possible wins a week) never made it into my original post.

I am in first place by 14 games and there are 8 total teams in the league.

Haren has had a blistering 1st half (mid April to mid June was disgusting) but won't keep it up. his last few starts have begun to show this.

I just got offered Gagne for JJ Hardy. Its a 10 team 6X5 H2H league with OBP and TB. There's a few teams that are totally loaded on CL, including the team that offered me this, so some weeks I'm screwed on saves no matter what, and sometimes Wickman and Accardo will still be enough to win. My roster is:

R Martin
Pujols
Polanco
Chipper
Tulowitzki
Rios
Beltran
Corey Hart
Helton
bench:
Damon
Upton
DL: Tejada

K. Escobar
Lilly
Gagne
Wickman
Accardo
Otsuka
Webb
Sheets
Cain
Wandy Rodriguez
DL: Burnett

I'll probably drop Polanco and pick up a SP when Upton is back. Should I jump on this offer, wait till Tejada's future is more clear, or just reject it?

I don't have any experience in H2H fantasy baseball, so hopefully somebody else will chime in. I recall somebody saying that steals weren't as valuble in H2H, but I can't imagine that overall value isn't going to lead to the most wins. From a value perspective, this deal seems the best, although I still might prefer to keep it simple with Haren for Bonds. Keep in mind, getting Bonds is going to help your OBP more than moving Rollins for Reyes. Renteria is too big of a downgrade from Rollins, so I'd probably forget about that one.

so what do we think of Brad Penny? due for a bad 2nd half, or is this a return to good form for him?

I'm torn on him. his first half was great, and anything close to that in the 2nd would help me out. in addition, he only costs me $3, so could be a good player next year at $6.

hedge my bet by trading now for a good player?
