[/ QUOTE ] Nah. That's the beauty of golf. I'm not very good. I play infrequently. While I will play blues or blacks if everyone else is, it makes far more sense for me to play whites. The biggest detriment is that it's a PITA, but those tees are there for a reason. [/ QUOTE ] i guess its just a personal thing then. if you're just out with three buddies drinking beer and playing golf, you're not really there to test yourself...or atleast i'm not. majority vote decides which tees we play, coinflip in the event of a tie.

My regular course is a 4800yrd par 67, slope 108. They have their open tournament every year and pros rarely do a 2 round total better than -6...so just because a course is short, doesn't mean it's easy.
Conversely, a manicured course with lightning greens, slope 129, par 71, 6800yrds usually has pros going better than -10 in 2 rounds... Edit: Oh, and FWIW, I'm a scratch golfer who averages 310+ on my drives.
