having nothing happen is not brilliant. nothing happens when i don't even turn on the tv, there is supposed to be some improvement.

[/ QUOTE ]

i don't think nothing was happening in the last scene. it was really setup by his meeting with junior. made him realize, at least for a moment, that in the end all this business stuff doesn't mean anything. also i thought it was kind of cool how the restaurant had some sketchy looking characters that made us insanely paranoid, while tony was sitting there completely calm and at peace for one of the first times ever.

Yes I get what the scene was trying to do.

Explain how Meadow's inability to park added to the brilliance of this scene.

[/ QUOTE ]

it just added more tension. that was probably the weakest part of the scene.

Because in actuality, people [censored] up parking like that every day. It's a perfectly normal occurrence. But everyone watching was thinking in the back of their heads, "oh [censored], is she going to get blindsided?"

At the end of the day, they're just normal people, getting through life. Eating onion rings next to the trucker taking time to enjoy some coffee.

seriously though, if we did really get rickrolled for the last scene, I think it would have been the first time I ever laughed at rickrolling.

TONY IS [censored] DEAD, WTF ARE YOU GUYS TALKING ABOUT. It was foreshadowed in the last episode with the flashback to him and bobby in the boat.

He was hit and killed and thats why there is an sudden black out.

what is a big ending? everyone dying in a car accident?

almost all the storylines were wrapped up:

tony's continuing in his business, but is still a complete sociopath - his mockery of paulie's revelation suggests that his statement to melfi about his experience with peyote was a lie (and thus she was right to discharge him).

carmela wants to build another spec house

anthony is still weak and depressed, meadow's off to law school

junior's gone.

janice is just like her mother - even though she claims she's not, she right away said something incredibly livia-like (forget what that was).

etc.

After 7 seasons to see it end with the family happy together to "Don't stop Believing" is perfect. I wonder, with the talk of the 3-4 endings shot etc, if the point where the show goes black is the starting point for those endings?

Was on the edge of my seat...
Was in dire anticipation...
Wait wait wait...BLACK

Then as the credits rolled it hit me, that it ended just right. I agree w/ the being in Tony's shoes aspect of it, very off the path every1(viewers) wanted it to go.

I'm satisfied, but I can see why some will be forever pissed.

Phil Leotardo getting his face crushed by the SUV while the grandkids were inside...GOLDEN!!!

it was also a curious culture clash - meadow parking her lexus to go eat onion rings at this kind of trashy restaurant-diner thing with the boy scouts and truckers. very north jersey. as well the show should end - that's how it began.
