You know, I've always wondered why they didn't have an event for the blind (with braile cards). I don't think it should be that hard to do, and the dealer could announce what the flop, turn and river was. I mean they already have a ladies only event and a seniors event, why not a braile event, or even just an event for the handicapped (IE: People who are paralized and can't use their arms/hands to see their hole cards)? [/ QUOTE ] Didn't they have something like that at the USPC? Or was that a tournament for the deaf? I recall seeing this on ESPN somewhere. |

Memo to Harrah's: I've heard in your quest to unveil a "hip" or "snazzy" looking playing card for the WSOP, you have experimented with a deck that has been roundly rejected by the players. With that in mind, I've cooked up a few prototype designs you may be interested in for the WSOP 2008. They update the playing card for the 21st century without causing any confusion on the players' part. Now, these were all MSPainted, so they're pretty crude, to say the least. For example, the actual cards will all be the same size, and the graphics properly centered. However, I think these will give you an idea of the general direction we want to take the next generation of playing cards. Here are examples of everything we've been trying out, stylistically. I think you'll agree they're much more cutting-edge than your stodgy "standard" deck or the freakish design unveiled on an unwitting public at this year's WSOP. ![]() If those cards are a little too visually stimulating, we're also working on a lineup of "modern" playing cards. You can see our first prototypes below. ![]() Anyway, if anyone at Harrah's is reading this, feel free to PM me regarding your company's interest in these new lines of cards. [/ QUOTE ] Post of the year right here folks |

I played in the Casino Employees event yesterday. I liked the card value/suit in the corner but I have to agree with virtually everyone else that the community cards are difficult to differentiate the suits and the 6 & 9 issue is extremely confusing. One player, at showdown, showed his pocket 9s and joked that he had either two pair 9s & 6s, or a full house, or a set--- he wasn't sure. The board was 6 9 2 J 4 [/ QUOTE ] Hey Jay...did you try and sell Harrah's on eTables for the WSOP? |

I was going to play in the 2.5k stud8/O8 later today. Any idea if these awful cards will be used? The clubs and spades look hard to see too. I can't imagine trying to play stud with those cards.

I do like the little line under the six. I wish network tv would put a little line under the Democrat's chins when they are talking on tv so I can distinquished them from the Republicans. For everyone who likes to use 4 color decks online, I just wanted to point out that Harrah's could have done that, but they went with these cards instead.

I think it would have been really funny to see the reactions of some of the players when they saw the new cards, particularly the old time pros.

I got baked last night and designed a new line of cards. I think they will appeal to the growing population of style-conscious young pros entering the game. The second design is a combination of the "Modern" line and the new line. I call it the "Super PoMo" line.
