I have all man vs wild and most survivor man on dvr. Man vs wild is much better. Survivor man is more realistic with no camera crew but then him toting around the cameras takes a lot away it. Having a camera crew follow you is def +ev for the show.

To be frank, I enjoy Man vs. Wild more than Survivorman. As I said previously I just think Survivorman is much more applicable if you are in a rut and the way he does his show is much more hardcore than Bear.

I guess we need to come up with some rubric to judge these shows as it seems everyone is judging on different things.

Survivorman is never by himself. The one episode where he's stranded in the pacific and he's floating around in a raft his crew that's following has to pull him out because of a coming storm

Thank you! I was watching that exact episode the other night, and I was thinking of this thread and how many people were making fun of bear for having a camera crew. He clearly states in the beginning of each show that the camera crew is not allowed to interact with him in any way.

Another thing about survivorman that bothers me is that he always has to tote a camera which takes a whole lot away from teaching about an actual survivor situation. In the one I watched about the arctic, he would tape himself walking with a 100 pound sled, then go back for the camera, and walk the same route.

and yes, Bear would drink survivorman's spinal fluid for sustinence.

I am waiting for him to get into a really tough survival situation and survive by eating his camera men.

Lol. Survivorman >>>

Bear is so afraid of animals.

He also used a life jacket in one of the episodes where he floated down river. Give me a break!

Another episode, he's attached to a rope and harness. lame

Survivorman is completely alone unless he's in grave danger.

survivorman is clearly the more practical show.

However, man vs wild is more entertaining, for many reasons including that they have a camera crew, and that the bear guy is badass and is clearly the better survivalist of the 2

the approach that bear uses in man v wild, to literally overpower whatever type of nature he is put in, is likely the type of advice that would get a novice killed. But it is cool as [censored] to see someone who has received some of the best survival training in the world(sas training ect...) do his thing.

This is the only episode where he has a crew with him as far as I know, and he explains it in the beginning.
