Online gambling, will never be allowed in Mainland China unless the government has complete control over it.

For god sakes, they had American (China) Idol, but canceled it because they felt it was too much of a democracy since people were allowed to vote for their favorite.

Im able to log into sites and play freerolls over here, but cant deposit. If I had money in my acct before I left USA, I believe I would have been able to play though.

How can there not be any negative social correlation with gambling when people (however few it may be) lose everything they own and destroy their lives because of it.

[/ QUOTE ]

Probably because in their culture, one has to take responsibility for their own actions, whereas in America, if you go busto, it's not your fault, it's the casino's.

I'm a Filipino, it is true most of the people you see gambling in any casino are Asians. Fact is gambling is apart of the social culture whether it be card games, mah jong, horses, cockfighting. Also take into consideration the avg median income of an Asian household, there is just alot more disposable income to gamble with. It is also true a good majority are materialistic you see the Asian women with REAL coach bags, louis vuitton, wearing jewlery and gold, then you see the guys with designer jeans and polo shirts wearing expensive watches, and dont forget we drive BMW's, Mercedes, and Lexus. We work hard for our money and for the majority we dont complain about work were just happy there is work to be had, and glad we have the opportunity. What also helps us to be successful is the value of the family as a whole, along with a strong work ethic and the importance of a college education.

I think if the asian market is tapped for online poker, it'll quickly lose it's appeal when skillful players are clearly the ones dominating. They want a nice gamble, not a skillful game.

This is definitely not true of Koreans. See video games.

I'm a Korean-American nit.

I haven't read the last 6 pages but I have to post my funny Asian humor from the casino last night. I am in Colorado at the moment so it is a small game (max $5 bets.) Anyway there was 6 asian guys at my table. One of them who I think was vietnamese got fired up and decided to raise preflop on ATC 8-9 hands in a row. He didn't show anything good and donked off over $100. It didn't bother me any. Still out of the blue this other asian who I think was Korean looks straight at him and says "quit [censored] raising you crazy asian". I am sitting right between them and I just burst out laughing. It was great.

Walleye, that's what the 5-5 games are. Thi biggest ones are at The Lodge. It's mostly Asians capping all streets with ATC and it's all about how fortune smiles at you. Once in a while someone will get lost and wander into Colorado Central Station and start donking up the 2-5 game there. They open a 3-5 game for them.
