What circumstances led to you becoming a moderator for 2+2? (i.e., who contacted you from 2+2?, how did they know of you?, etc.)

Why are your friends such cheapskates?

[/ QUOTE ]

I've got a couple friends who are high rollers with very similar tastes and outlooks to my own.

None of them were on this trip.

This was a really good friend who was getting married who was in a cash crunch from the wedding. The rest of the circle of friends that were there, none of them wanted to ball in Vegas. I was running really hot, including crushing a game at the Palms during a ~26 hour session on the trip, and I took the opportunity to make sure my good friend had a really good time. I'd do it again.

i didn't move up to the $22s until i'd grown to the recommended bankroll requirement for the level.

What is the recommended bankroll for SNG tournaments or is this one of those "that depends" answers based on a player's win rate and cash percentage?

The STT forum FAQ has a lot of data on this:

There used to be a lot more clear guidelines / deliniations back in the 800-chip / 1000-chip SNG days on Party. Those were very mechanical and the STT forum had pretty standard guidelines for how many you needed to play to know you were a winning player and how well you needed to be rolled.

I don't recall exactly. I think I was originally operating under guidelines of 100 buyins but I'm not sure.

To be more clear in my original answer, it wasn't just the specific bankroll that kept me from moving up, it was also a set win % and ROI as well as a recommended minimum number of SNGs at the level to have a strong confidence you were a winning player.

Previous moderator Craig and I did some business together around his site SportsBookPal.com, through the vector of my sports betting / poker blog.

During conversations it came up that I had moderator experience on a couple different forums (primarily my experience with high traffic automotive forum evolutionm.net). When Craig and his wife had their baby, he knew he'd be pulled away from the forum and he invited me to step in and help along side him.

Craig shot a recommendation to the site admins and had me send them a message myself as well, giving them an overview of who i was and what my qualifications where. Then (although i didn't know it at the time) the proposal to add a mod goes to the moderator forum to see if there's strenuous objection from any of the current mods.

I started helping out alongside Craig, but basically as soon as I'd demonstrated I was capable he let me know he was going to be pulling away from the forum almost completely for a time.

Then, as I previously mentioned I think, the site admins recently did a culling of admin accounts - they identified everyone who hadn't logged in, in a couple months, and then sent them all a PM asking if they were still active / still wanted to mod. Both Craig and Tech were removed as moderators during that time.

dc,

I'm one of the owners of the site.

I'm not sure if you have more specific questions or if that answered it. If you have more, feel free to ask.

Glad you like it.

I discovered UFCjunkie independently from 2+2, and at some point noticed that you post there. I just wanted to say great site more than anything...
